Job Summary

The C.M.Ledoux Health Centre requires an Accreditation Navigator. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Health with on-going supports from the Saskatoon Tribal Council Accreditation Coordinator and other 2nd level support staff as required. The Accreditation Navigator will work as a member of the Health Staff Team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with policies and procedures set out by Chief and Council of Mistawasis Nêhiyawak.

The Accreditation Navigator will play a lead role in coordinating the accreditation process at C.M.Ledoux Health Centre. Working closely with Health Centre staff and the Accreditation Specialist at the Saskatoon Tribal Council, the Accreditation Coordinator is responsible for providing information about the process, coordinating activities, ensuring processes are followed and timelines are met. Accreditation Navigator also promotes and builds awareness of the value of accreditation among co-workers and in the community.

Job Duties

    • Oversee and manage the accreditation process
    • Act as the primary link between Community, STC Accreditation Coordinator and Accreditation Canada
    • Convene and support accreditation teams, including identifying team leaders
    • Coordinate and support the self-assessment and on-site education processes
    • Organize logistics for the on-site surveys and debriefing sessions
    • Use the on-line Organization Portal to assign responsibilities and coordinate information
    • Assist co-workers with on-line questionnaires, data collection, and input
    • Support ongoing quality improvement efforts
    • Raise awareness and understanding of accreditation internally and externally
    • Participate in regional accreditation networking meetings and training sessions
    • Network with Accreditation Coordinators from organizations across Canada
    • Support the development and ongoing quality improvement of accreditation by providing feedback to First Nations and Inuit Health (Branch) and Accreditation Canada
    • Work co-operatively, professionally with all other staff


    • Previous experience with Accreditation Canada processes an asset
    • Experience in project and people management
    • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Supporting change within an organization to improve quality
    • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure, with demonstrated time-management skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Computer knowledge
    • Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
    • Must have access to a reliable, registered vehicle.
    • Must be able to provide a Criminal Records Check (CPIC)
    • Must live a ‘healthy’ life style
