Employment Term and Length: 1 TERM Part-time Position (May 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026) with potential for extension
Summary
The Buffalo Guardians Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Buffalo Trace to Land Water Sky and Guardians related programs being run within Mistawasis Nêhiyawak are administered smoothly and effectively. The Buffalo Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of the Guardians youth development program is completed on time, within budget, and according to program objectives.
This role involves collaboration with multiple departments within Mistawasis and supporting engagement with the youth and other programs on and off reserve. Duties include connecting with Lands Advisory Committee, Mistawasis Nêhiyawak High school, supporting event planning, gatherings and other events linked to the program. The position includes assisting with the Buffalo Project Coordinator. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required. Communication and interpersonal skills are important for working with other Mistawasis departments and external contacts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing program objectives and timelines for the Buffalo Trace to Land Water Sky initiative
- Coordinate daily operations and logistics to ensure smooth program delivery
- Coordinate between project partners, including Department of Lands and Resources, Department of Education, Parks Canada and Mistawasis Nêhiyawak High School.
- Regularly communicate program updates, goals, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders.

- Support participants and respond to inquiries
- Track program performance and prepare regular reports for the Lands Advisory Committee
- Identify and resolve logistical, financial, and interpersonal challenges.

Work Environment
- Typically office-based with occasional travel required.
- May involve working flexible hours depending on program needs.
- Remote work may be permitted.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Must provide a current, original, Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC), as a condition of employment.
