Mistawasis Nȇhiyawak Chief and Council have provided direction to establish a Community Safety Officer Program on-reserve to
respond to high priority but low risk calls within the community. Sask Polytechnic (Prince Albert Campus) offers a six week
academic program which includes a physical training/self defence component to prepare you for this role.
Candidates must pass both academic and physical components to be eligible to receive a Peace Officer designation through Saskatchewan Justice. This designation will provide for the lawful authority to enforce specific provincial statutes and or regulations
as determined by Chief and Council. Start date for eligible candidates at Prince Albert Campus will be determined by Sask Polytechnic.
Requirements:

- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Minimum age of 18 Years
- Be of Sound Mind and Good Character
- No Criminal Record (to be reviewed on a case by case basis)
- Submit CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Search
- No Current Criminal Charges
- Not Subject in an Active Police Investigation
- Physically fit (physical fitness test must be passed within six minutes)
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License (excluding those who remain on the Graduated Driver Licensing Program)
