What's New
The sections below highlights some of the new features of our website.
Home Page
- We briefly introduce Mistawasis to visitors who may not know a lot about us.
- If you are a registered website member, you will also see a welcome and a link to your profile.
- Below this are some quick links to important resources including a link to sign up.
Community Notices
The Community Notices section is our global news feed. This is where you will find important communication about regarding our community. You will also be able to sort on specific topic such as financial statements, employment etc.
The news feed starts off by showing you the most recent articles. This is the section where your website registration comes into focus.
Certain articles will be for registered members only, and for instance specific council meetings may be streamed live here and available to members living directly within Mistawasis.

Live and Pre-recorded Video
Our new site will offer the occasional live stream of special events and meetings. We will also be able to upload a video recording of the event afterwards.
Check the both the Community Notices section and the Video filter within it. At the time of this writing, we don’t have videos online yet, but we hope to upload some shortly.
Updates and Email Blasts
We will try to post an article in Community Notices when the website gets enough content updates to warrant a post. This would be new forms, changes to pages in our Services section and more.
Registered website members who also opt-in for additional communication will receive email notifications when special events are near or important information has been updated online.
Sign Up
The following sections will walk you though the process to sign up.
Fill out the registration form
- Visit the sign-up form and follow the instructions.
- Fill out your first and last name.
- Select the radio button that best describes your status and location.
- If you have a Treaty Number, enter it (otherwise leave it blank).
- Select a username that is all one word and unique to you.
- Enter your email address and create a password.
- Give yourself a password hint if you like.
- Opt-in to email blasts if you want and submit the form.
- Read the next section below for continued steps.
Verify your email address
After you have submitted your registration form, check your email.
You will receive a message from our website asking you to click a link, which will tell our website your email is active.
Wait for your registration to be reviewed
The website will notify us to review your website registration. We determine what membership level to assign you based on your form.
Once approved, you will be sent another email telling you of such. You will then be able to sign into the website using the Login button found on the top right of every page.
Some Community Notices articles (when not logged in), will ask you to log in to see the content. The login will be shown inside the content area of the site in this case.
Not getting any emails from us?
If you registered and did not get the emails described above, check your junk or spam folders.
If they still aren’t there, contact us though our form online or email contact@mistawasis.ca . Please tell us your name and email address you tried to register with, and we will check our site.
Login and See Protected Content
The sections below will show you how to login and see content that is hidden from users who are not registered.
Main menu link
The top right area of the website has a ‘Login’ link. Use this to sign in with your username and password.
Once you are logged in, this will change to a ‘Log Out’ link. Click ‘Log Out’ to end your session.
Community notices login prompt
If you select a post in ‘Community Notices’ that is protected, and you haven’t logged in yet, you will see a prompt to enter in your username and password.
Forgot password
If you forget your password, select the ‘Login’ link on the top right main menu. There will be a ‘Forgot Password’ link under the area that asks for your username and password.
Follow the instructions on the ‘Forgot Password’ page to help reset your password. You can also /contact us with your name and email, and we can send your email a message with a link to help you recover your account.
If you are on a post within the ‘Community Notices’ section and are asked to login, there will also be a ‘Forgot Password’ available.
Locked out?
If you enter your password incorrectly too many times, the website will lock you out. Please wait 5-15 minutes and try again.
